My footsteps continue forward
But my body falls behind
Pulled by the lure
Of staying who I was
The changing walls
Too difficult
To bend to avoid
I’m trapped behind
The slanted trellis
Disguised with fruit
As I listen to my footsteps
Continue on
The straight path
Fading away
