The light from the brick fireplace
rings the phone to call family home
stacked with wood chopped for hours
in the backyard where the children play
the echoing laughter brushes the trees
a gentle snow dusts the home
as more headlights arrive
a freshly cooked roast lures the children inside
under the tree their presents hide
a family…
